@Jesse: Clearly you misunderstood my question. I had already decided to attend Crown, and since, as I said, I am getting a new cell phone soon, I was curious which companies provided better coverage for the area of campus I had chosen. If I’m getting a new cell phone anyway, I might as well opt for one that works there. I’m planning my phone around my college, not my college around my phone.

Um, as for Crown I can’t say for sure. I have Verizon and I know that it works there from personal experience. Service tends to fluctuate at different areas of campus for different providers — for example, Verizon works everywhere for me except College Eight. I do know that Crown has its own antenna, which should be enough. If you have a chance, I’d recommend simply coming up to campus and trying out your phone there.

However, I’ve heard that due to the many trees in the area, some cell phone companies don’t provide very good coverage. I’m getting a new cell phone soon, and want to make sure I get one that will work well at UCSC. Do you know anything about which cell phone companies work best, specifically at Crown? Any information you have would be really helpful. Thanks!
