Also if moving a heavy item make sure to lift with your legs and not your back. Moving boxes can get very heavy and if not careful you can do real and lasting damage to your back.

I also had a move-in recently, but instead of hand truck I used this product called the Strap-a-handle – a cool carrying strap with a handle. It was perfect for boxes of shoes and clothes, and I easily got up and down stairs and hallways. Highly recommended, esp. for walkups!

Time at college was the best time in my life. I did not like moving because I afraid of the unknown. These are interesting and useful tips for students.

It is always the best idea to be a bit of a nerd and get to your room first to make sure that you get to choose where you want to sleep. This is going to affect the rest of your college year!
