Trimesters are awesome , even though there are six midterms and six finals.........its pays to be on a constant study throughout the year along with the multiple breaks :Đ Plus there is more time to retain the material compared to quarters and less time than a semester that would make someone exhausted from attending the same class for half a year!!!!!!

I think that the quarter term would be better than the semester for the simple fact you finish a course faster and that makes college fly by. It also teaches you disapline if you are a procrastinator.

I am surprised at how slowly the semester system. I was looking online at free course ware. One of the classes were 4 hours a week for 15 weeks. I have always done the quarter system wher you could take up to 4 classes in one day putting you in school from 9 am to 9 pm with a few breaks in between.

I had no idea semsester systems were so easy, until I was checking on some free course ware online that were on a semester system. 4 hours a week for 15 weeks! I have always done the quarter system where some classes were 4 hours day.

I have done both, and as an adult student I prefer quarters. There is only so much a professor has to teach you, and semesters are long and boring. You can get your degree more quickly with quarters than semesters. I get bored with the prof's after about 10 weeks so quarters make more sense too me.

Great article and well explained differences of school's systems. Deciding on which school to go with is not easy task. Given all the different facets of regular school, we can also consider home schooling via online colleges that offer complete college degree. This is cost effective in terms of time and money resources.
