I think a good idea is to try to live in the same dorm building as your old friends, but try to get a new roommate. We hung out with eachother constantly and pretty much only talked about highschool. I found that after she left school ( not because of me, she just chose to take a semester off) i was able to make more friends and open myself more socially. We are still really close...but doing it over I would never opt to live with someone I was previously friends with my freshman year. just some insight :) I lived with my bestfriend from highschool for the first semester..and I have to say our friendship was strained.
