The IE icon in the task bar will not open a new browser window (only the currently open ones), how do I get it to open a new window?

thanks for those tips, i also find the pinning feature very useful. The only thing i dont like are the previews of windows there sometimes a little too slow to load. is there any way to speed up the transition animation?

@Mike: Upgrading to retail might fix it. That's a weird situation... has googling brought up anything for it?

I had been enjoying the ability to pin frequently used folders to the Windows Explorer icon for some time, then one day they just disappeared.
Now when I right click on that icon in the task bar there are only 3 options:
- Windows Explorer
- Unpin this program from the taskbar
- Close Window

If I try to add a folder as you describe, by dragging, and releasing, nothing happens. I get the little message saying "pin to Windows Explorer", I release, and nothing.

Very frustration. Don't know why this changed spontaneously. I'm stuck with the 3 basic options.

Using Windows 7 RC at the moment, hopefully upgrading to retail will fix it?

Thanks for the post. Very helpful. Does it seem to you that each new Windows version looks suspiciously more and more Mac-like?
