@Joel: That's very true. If you constantly just do what it takes to get by, you'll never really end up anywhere. Thanks for that tip!

You obviously put a lot of thought into this list! It's got some really helpful tips in it. The only one I'd like to elaborate on is #17 ("C's get degrees"). One of the problems you didn't mention is that having that self-limiting attitude carries over into your professional life. If you reinforce a habit of mediocrity in college, you can be sure that it will re-emerge after graduation and hold you back in your professional life. If you want to excel in your career (get raises, promotions, and more money), you need to get in the habit of excelling and doing your best, now. We are all "creatures of habit", so why not use that truth to your advantage!

Pay attention to your profs on first day classes.... this is when they( profs) tell the students what THEY expect...In 1963... I had a prof tell me I was allowed 3 cuts in his class for the quarter.... any more than 3 cuts and the class would be a FAIL... no expceptions...Saturdays were taught by a grad student.... I missed 10 or 12 class.... I went into the final with an A... the worst I could have pulled was a C even if I flunked the final.....not so .... this freshie failed the course.... !!!!!why , you ask? the prof stuck to his first day lecture.... ONLY 3 cuts allowed... He meant it and I never forgot that lesson.

@Mark: Thanks! A friend of mine actually recommend the 'Yes Man' challenge -- he did it himself and he ended up finding a new girlfriend, a cool new job, became the lead role in a couple of plays, and a few other things. It really improved his life.
