I’ve never heard of Twin XL sheets! Thanks for the tip – people usually don’t think about these kind of things when preparing for college.

I recently made this mistake when sending my first child off to college with traditional sized twin sheets, and when we got there I had to search all over town for a new set. There should be more articles like these for college students parents. Thank you for this information, I wish I would have found it sooner!

Yeah that’s the problem :( Having said that, with eBay you’re never quite sure what you’re going to get; at least with B, B & B you can be pretty confident that the stuff should be of good quality, so I guess it’s not all bad!

@Pete: That’s a good call. I had to order a fitted sheet from Bed, Bath, and Beyond specifically, which meant paying for more shipping and waiting longer for it to come =(

I managed to find some Twin XL sheets on eBay, at a good price too. This was really handy because I was buying them at a time of year when they weren’t readily available in the shops, and I found a much better selection online.

Thread count is kinda important as well, you don’t want to end up with sheets like the ones in hotels.

As the sizes of beds, mattresses and duvets may vary from dorm to dorm – It is always worth checking up with the dorm’s authority about sizes.
