For me, I like to have a 20 min lunch time walk to get some solitude. I live close to a river, and it is really peaceful, away from emails and ringing telephones. It is especially nice in the summer – I think I maybe a bit solar powered.

Seriously, it was always tough for me to be alone during my college years because I had so many roommates! And then there is the Catch-22 where you feel like you aren’t going to be connecting or making friends if you are by yourself, but it is necessary to have that balance, which is something that will carry on to the rest of your life.

During times of loneliness, i just prefer being alone itself. I either do some stuff on the net which keeps me distracted from all other sad things or just prefer going for a movie alone.

I think personal space is very important to a person. Definitely try to get some time alone as often as you possibly can.

Library is probably an overused place for solitude seeker, I prefer taking a walk over sitting in library. Depending on the institutions rooftops might also be a good place specially with a telescope in night.

Ya reflecting on your life once in a while is not a bad idea and being alone doesn’t mean you are a loner or extrovert. Spending time with yourself always help in knowing oneself better. But then socializing is equally important because sometimes in life we may need someone’s help or support so make few friends but whom you can count on.
