@Piotr: But over the course of the summer — 3 months — fast food can cost you $120. It really depends how much you go out — going out here and there is fine, but if it’s a regular thing and you buy a lot of food, you’re going to lose a lot of money to the fast food gods.

I cannot agree that avoiding eating out can help. If we are really talking about $10 a week there’s no point to deprive ourselves from the joys in life :) This add up to only 40 a month which is pretty much nothing. I strongly agree though on the CC spendings and the smart driving – this can save you a whole fortune. I’m now saving about $60-70 a month from gas by replacing my car with more economic model.

Great tips. I agree about the movies. I only go to matinees or the the cheap dollar movie theaters now. I can’t afford to pay $9 a movie. Good post, thanks for sharing.

Yes don’t eat out, only spend money that you have which means don’t put it on the credit card. Little bit’s here and there soon add up and you never catch up!

it is almost impossible to avoid eating out in the summer off of college, but I have found that it is so much healthier to eat at home, and you will be saving money too.

Ya i agree that by using all these ways you can save money for sure, according to me avoid eating out and not to use credit card is the best way of saving money.

Some good tips, in some cases these are easier said than done but if you’re disciplined enough and stick to them then this is good advice.
