I own a restaurant in Eagle River, WI. We offer Coke and Pepsi at the soda fountain
We also sell 150 different varieties of glass bottled soda. I can't think of another restaurant that has both.

Clearly folks who don't enjoy cooldrinks opt for pepsi because coca cola is a real cooldrink. Where did Pepsi come from anyhow, Cokes the best, always has been always will be, Always Coca Cola...Remember. There is no comparison between the two.

@Byron: I would think it'd be in the restaurant's best interest to serve at least one of them, considering that they get benefits from the company, and plus many customers want one of the big brand-name sodas.

This poses another interesting question to me, what happens if the restaurant chooses not to serve either of the 2?
I wonder who came up with this marketing strategy because they obviously had to step up to their competitors. Does anybody know?

@GoldCoaster: That's really interesting, I didn't know they go that far into the deal. And that's amazing how much profit there is in a single drink of coke.

It's not just little deals like free stock and electricity - my sister own a restaurant and Coke paid for their cut of the street beautification for the area - $80,000.
A friend worked at a theme park and was told they could drink as much coke as they want becuase it only works out to be around 5cents a cup - not bad seeing it sells for $3.95.
I prefer Coke over Pepsi - not quite as sweet (it has a little more salt that cuts the sweetness down. Still has a ton of sugar.

Why aren’t Coke and Pepsi sold together at restaurants?

Coca-Cola = owned by the Catholic Church

Pepsi = owned by the Mormon Church

It really is that simple
