NO SHAVE NOVEMBER

My roommates this year and I will be celebrating No-Shave November. For the whole month, we won’t shave once. We currently have no plans to celebrate Decembeard or Januhairy.

I’ve been shaving more frequently than normal — up from once a week to every other day — so my facial hair grows back a little faster. I’ve grown my facial hair out a bit before, but usually I end up trimming it and/or shaving parts of it. After 30 days of not shaving or trimming any of it, I’m thinking I’m going to look like I was stranded on a desert island.

I’ll be heading home for Thanksgiving, where I’ll see my extended family for the first time in a year. Since Thanksgiving is near the end of the month, I’m definitely expecting some weird looks and awkward questions.

So, here it goes!

Oh, and I’ll post October’s traffic stats pretty soon :)

Good luck with that! Personally I couldn’t do it, I hate the feeling of not being cleanly shaved.

I hope my husband does not hear about this. I am not a big fan of facial hair.

Paul, great to hear that you will see your family. Hurray! This shaveless november is quite impressive….. It would be nice if you can post your picture with the beard at the end of the month.,

Are you going to trim it at all? I find my beard gets itchy if I don’t at least trim it. Either way definitely take some pictures and post them for everyone, even if it’s just your beard.

@Paul: No trimming allowed. That’s what will be the worst — my neck gets pretty scratchy and itchy, so in the next couple of days I’m going to start hating my facial hair :)

Haha thats funny. I really don’t like the look of the beard when its around 1-2 weeks. After a while it looks pretty good if you trim it right tho:)

@Dave: Yeah, I’m confident that’s how I’ll look too, but it’s still fun. After November I’ll probably keep my facial hair well-trimmed.

Wow! Going from every other day to not shaving at all is a HUGE deal! Are you going to post pictures as the journey goes? that would indeed be awesome to see the progress.
