Highlights of June 2009:
- Traffic this month was especially consistent. The little bump in traffic midway through the month wasn’t really significant nor caused by anything in particular. The month was pretty much nothing but average traffic.
- StumbleUpon, which has been a semi-regular contributor to traffic, has been contributing less and less each month, most likely because no new posts have earned a lot of attention. StumbleUpon has made up most of my referring site traffic, which has been cut in about a third in the last month.
- The majority of my traffic now has come from search engines — about 75% of it, in fact.
- Most of that search engine traffic has been about dorm necessities — four of the top five searches are related to living in a dorm. That’s also my most popular post this month, with more than double the views of any other. I’m really surprised it’s so popular in June, I imagine August and September will bring far more traffic to it!
- Unfortunately, overall traffic has declined this month. Traffic has been declining steadily since February, mainly due to the lack of attention from StumbleUpon. Although it’s sad to see, I’m not too bummed because the traffic I have been getting has been very consistent, and it’s still more traffic than I got in between those large StumbleUpon peaks.
- I’ve made a bunch of little changes here and there this month. I moved some ads around, I modified the theme slightly, and I switched/added/removed some plugins. I’ve been working on making Xatal more reader-friendly and faster. If you have any suggestions at all, I’d be glad to hear them!
- Xatal now has a PageRank of 3!
- I’ve also returned to a more stable amount of posting due to summer vacation.

That’s fantastic that you are getting 75% of your traffic from search engines, and you do have a PR 3! good job!
