Statistics for March 2009

Highlights of March 2009:

  • Xatal did not see as much traffic in March as it did last month, in February. This is because March did not receive the huge influx of users from StumbleUpon to any one post. There were a few days where more users came than others, but overall my traffic was very consistent.
  • However, March was still a very healthy month — “normal” traffic was higher than before, with the typical day seeing between 400 and 700 views. This is the highest “normal” traffic I’ve seen yet.
  • This month’s most popular post was What happened to all of my hard drive space on Windows Vista, which received 10,000 hits, or roughly half of my traffic this month. The next highest was The Top 35 Web Design Galleries, followed by How Do I ask a Girl to Prom in a Cute Way.
  • The web design galleries are 77% of the way to catching up to Fantastic Contraption solutions for the Most Popular Post overall, and Windows Vista hard drive space is 31% of the way there.
  • Search engines accounted for 33% of traffic this month, and overall search traffic was higher than last month. Many people seem to want to know how to ask a girl to prom!
  • StumbleUpon still accounts for most of my referring site traffic — 90% in fact.
  • March has been my third best month yet, following February and October.

The poll!

A surprising 45% of people applied to college this year, which is actually more than I would’ve guessed. It’s time for a new poll, though!

Are you going to prom?
